Two weekends ago in Las Vegas I snapped this picture outside the Container Park:

The Mantis by Kirk Jellum at Las Vegas Container Park
After exploring the park, I noticed this sign on my way out:
The first Bug Build Fact “just outside Zion National Park” caught my attention. (For more info on The Mantis, go here.)
Days later, while reading this book, during a recap of the story of how the Israelites sent 12 spies into the land for a report on conquering Canaan, another quote (in their words) grabbed me:
“To ourselves we seemed like grasshoppers, and we must have seemed the same to them.” Numbers 13:33 (New American Standard)
Glancing back at the cover of that book, a photo of Arches National Park!
Now that I’ve ordered my annual pass, the next step is determining where to go this year. The talk amongst my friends last year circled around a Utah road trip, visiting five National Parks, but that trip seemed too overwhelming to visit properly in the short time span our vacation schedules allow, and the discussion trailed away…
Maybe that’s a grasshopper complex speaking, because everywhere I look I see signs telling me, “Utah! Go. GO!”
