Heads Up!

Tonight brings us the first of two lunar eclipses due this year. See the link for more info, or use your favorite sky-watching site to get viewing instructions (if you haven’t already).

The moon is supposed to be red! (So will my neighbors be when they hear me stomping around on the roof in the middle of the night, but oh well…)

I hope to take a decent picture, but I don’t have a great track record photographing the moon.

Even so, here’s a couple over Watchman Campground from my Zion trip in September to (hopefully) get you in the sky-watching mood:

Apologies if now you’re all, “Whatever.”

And here’s another over Southern California, back when the fires were raging in early December (no extra charge for the tree silhouette):

(btw, that photo represents me – and my camera – really trying. Ugh. Again, I apologize.)
