Winter/Green

A few months ago, a tree-trimming crew working for my city worked down my street. They carefully pruned the first of the three trees in front of my condo building, but maybe they ran out of time because they then chopped off the entire crown on the next two trees.

The two decapitated trees then went into shock and prematurely bloomed in Winter. As Spring rolled around, the pruned tree bloomed; the other two, holding onto dead leaves, have been stupefied for months.

I’ve been trying to get my procrastinating neighbors (co-owners) and the powers that be (management, the HOA Board) to prune the sad trees for the past three months to help them realign with the season, and supposedly that MIGHT get partially done this week.

Even so, the trees continue to rally, and I was delighted to note their progress today.
