Sorry for missing Thailand’s National Forest Conservation Day yesterday.  Such a great holiday!

Speaking of forest conservation, I made it to Redwood National and State Parks during my trip to northern California over New Year’s.

The State Parks came first, out of private interests attempting to save the redwoods from logging. The National Park added more land and tied a bunch of State Parks together. Some of that new land had already been logged and was included to allow the redwoods more room to recover.

Awesome, right?
